"Recharger/Unwind" represents a pivotal step in the evolution of the experience structure and interactivity at OASIS immersion. Launched during COVID-15 restrictions, at a time where public spaces were scary. We assembled a new language for computer arts to infuse them with wellness and connection, trying to assemble the best immersive generative art would have to offer that would also allow visitors to soften and relax.
The exhibit is structured around the central themes of relaxation and self-discovery, inviting visitors to disconnect from the outside world and engage deeply with the present moment. Through a series of generative art installations, "Recharger/Unwind" offers a meditative journey that emphasizes the importance of taking time to recharge and unwind. Each piece within the exhibit is designed to evolve in response to the presence and interactions of the visitors, making every experience unique. The exhibit’s interactive elements allow visitors to influence the visuals, fostering a sense of participation and engagement. As described by the media, "Recharger/Unwind" provides "a refreshing exploration of art and technology, offering a serene and interactive experience" (Art Immersion Review).
The layout of the exhibit is thoughtfully designed to guide visitors through various sensory experiences. From soothing light displays to ambient soundscapes, each element is carefully curated to create a calming atmosphere that will then uplift and energize the visitor. The use of generative technology not only enhances the aesthetic experience but also invites visitors to reflect on the nature of change and the passage of time.
I played a crucial role in developing the interactive system that underpins the exhibit, establishing a foundation for future immersive experiences at OASIS immersion. This system, now a hallmark of the venue, allows for a seamless integration of visitor interaction, creating a personalized and immersive journey for each attendee.
In essence, "Recharger/Unwind" is more than just an art exhibit; it is an invitation to pause, reflect, and connect with oneself and the art in a meaningful way.
